ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Paul police said that they will present the case against the suspect in a Friday morning chase and officer-involved shooting to prosecutors this week.

The man who was initially in critical condition at Region's Hospital suffered what police are now calling non-life threatening injuries.

St. Paul police say they were responding to a burglary around 4 a.m. near the 1700 block of Dayton Avenue when they heard shots fired nearby.

Officers said they saw a suspicious vehicle leaving the area and they attempted to stop the car. A chase went on for about eight miles through St. Paul streets, police said.

The vehicle eventually stopped and a passenger got out and ran away. Police chased the man and an officer fired several times, hitting the suspect, police said.
