DULUTH, Minn. - An early winter storm is expected to possibly bring more than a foot of wet snow followed by cold in portions of northern Minnesota through Wednesday.
Snow has begun already early Monday and will continue on and off through early Wednesday in northwest Minnesota, ending in northeast Minnesota by late Wednesday.
In southern Minnesota we will see spotty rain/snow mixed showers Monday into Monday night with rain showers during the day Tuesday. By Tuesday evening, cold air wraps in and changes the moisture over to snow. That's when the Twin Cities could see some light accumulations (under 1-2" for most).
When it's done Wednesday for northern Minnesota, snowfall may reach 10 to 15 inches from Grand Forks through Bemidji over toward Duluth & the North Shore.
Temperatures will plummet for everyone during the day Wednesday. Expect single digit highs in the south Friday & Saturday and our first subzero morning lows. Highs will be just near zero in northern Minnesota, overnight lows in the teens to near 20 below zero!
