MINNEAPOLIS - Two Minneapolis police officersaccused of making racial slurs after an altercation in Green Bay, Wis. in late June have been fired.

Sources confirm to KARE 11 reporter Jana Shortal that Minneapolis police officers Brian Thole and Shawn Powell were fired today. The veteran police officers have 21 days to file a grievance with the police union.

Thole and Powellwere not charged in the incident, but the Green Bay Police released the incident report into what happened.

Both of the officers who were off-duty at the time allegedly fought with a group of black men outside a bar June 29 after words were exchanged. After the incident Thole and Powell went to the Green Bay Police station and continued to make racial slurs.

Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau placed Powell and Thole on leave during the internal affairs investigation after the incident.
