GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Body shop owners, brace yourselves for an onslaught of business.

Hundreds of vehicles across the state will need repairs after an explosion of crashes and spinouts Wednesday morning.

State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske tweeted that across the Twin Cities metro, troopers handled 137 crashes between midnight and approximately 10 a.m. Fifteen of those involved injuries. Roeske says another 137 vehicles spun out or left the road.

Across the entire state those numbers climb to 175 crashes, 20 of which involved injury.Troopers responded to192 spinouts or calls of vehicles leaving the roadway.

Roeske added that one of those crashes involved a State Trooper. The squad was responding to a spin out on Highway 100 near 50th in Edina with lights and sirens activated when it was struck by another motorist. Fortunately no one was injured.

Conditions are expected to remain dicey in many areas as Wednesday winds on, with roads already reported as slippery and snow-covered. Precipitation is expected to continue throughout the afternoon in the northern part of the state.
