Toledo, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Rian Pearson tied his career-high with 30 points and brought down eight rebounds as the Toledo Rockets easily beat the Detroit Titans, 91-75, in a non-conference tilt at Savage Arena.
Justin Drummond and Jonathan Williams both scored 11 points for the Rockets (7-0) as they remained undefeated on the campaign.
Even Bruinsma had a double-double for the Titans (4-5) with 25 points and 14 boards, adding three assists and three blocks. Matthew Grant scored 10 points and had four assists.
The Rockets started off hot, shooting 63.3 percent from the floor and 8-of-13 from behind the 3-point line. They carried their shooting to a 56-39 lead at the break. Detroit converted 43.8 from the field and made 6-of-12 from beyond the arc.
Toledo was able to maintain its lead by shooting just 40 percent on field goal attempts and knocking down 4-of-8 from 3-point range in the second half.
Toledo won despite losing the battle inside as the Titans outscored the Rockets 40-24 in the paint. Toledo's bench did perform better as it edged Detroit's reserves, 29-22.
