LUCAN, Minn. - Authorities say the remains of a child have been recovered from the scene of a farmhouse fire in the southwestern Minnesota. A second child remains missing.

Two adults and several other children were able to escape the two-story house when fire broke out near Marshall just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Fire officials say the house in the town of Lucan was fully engulfed when first responders arrived.

The Department of Public safety says the victim's identity and age will be released after an autopsy.

Vesta firefighter Neil Hansen was injured when he slipped and was run over by a tanker truck. He's currently hospitalized in Mankato.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says the names and ages of the victims will be released once positive identification is made by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
