GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Work is underway to crackdown on bullying in Minnesota schools.

OutFront Minnesota has joined forces with Education Minnesota to rally support for the "Safe & Supportive Schools Act".

The measure passed the Minnesota House during the last session but failed to clear the Senate.

This year, advocates say the bullying prevention bill must pass.

Jon Plotz, a teacher in the Anoka-Hennepin School District, and Della Kurzer-Zlotnick, a student at St. Paul Central High School, visited KARE 11 Sunrise to talk about the push.

A rally is being held Monday at 2:45 p.m. at Central High School to get support for the anti-bullying bill.

At the same time, nine schools in Minneapolis will gather signatures on a petition in support of the measure.

At just 37 words, Minnesota's bullying prevention law is the weakest in the nation.
