Jeremiah joined KARE 11 in December 2012 as 4:30 a.m. anchor and reporter for KARE 11 Sunrise. It is a homecoming for Jeremiah, who was raised in central Minnesota and graduated from St. Cloud State University.
Jeremiah previously worked in Alexandria and Rochester, where he won two regional Emmy awards with the morning newscast at KTTC. Before moving back to Minnesota, he was a weekend anchor in Fort Myers, Fla. for five years.
Even though he's given up the warm Florida temps, Jeremiah says he's thrilled to be back home, closer to family, and starting each day with the KARE 11 Sunrise team!
When I was young, I wanted to be: Dan Rather or Tom Brokaw. That's right, I'm living the dream!
Favorite story you worked on: I covered the presidential campaign in Florida during the 2012 election, which meant numerous campaign visits, debates and the political conventions. It was a great opportunity and exciting to be at the center of the process!
Favorite sports team: The Twins. Even when I was in Florida, I lived in the spring training home of the Twins in Fort Myers, so it was a perfect place to keep up with the team. And it was warmer.
Favorite subject in school: American History. And now working in news gives me a incredible chance to witness that history every day.
Why do you like your job? There's always something new! New people to meet, new stories to tell. You never know what each day will bring.
