BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The investigation into the robbery and attack on former Minneapolis mayoral candidate Mark Andrew is expected to lead to multiple arrests.

Bloomington police said that Andrew was at the Starbucks in Mall of America on Thursday night when a man stole his iPhone.

Andrew chased after the thief, but was quickly attacked by two women, Letaija Cutler-Cain, 18, of Brooklyn Park and a 17-year-old Minneapolis girl. Cutler-Cain jumped on Andrew's back while the juvenile struck Andrew in the head and face with a collapsible baton. During the assault, the women reportedly said, "We're going to kill you," according to police.

Cutler-Cain faces two counts of aggravated robbery in the first-degree and one count of assault in the second-degree. The 17-year-old has been booked on the same charges at the Hennepin county Juvenile Detention Facility. Formal charges are expected next week.

The investigation continues to identify the male suspect who took the victim's phone, witnesses saw the man drop the phone nearby. The phone was returned to Andrew.

The Mall of America Security Department has high-quality video and is working to identify the man who took the phone.

Andrew told KARE 11 that he thinks he suffered a concussion as well as cuts to his head and face.
