MINNEAPOLIS - Police in Minneapolis say an altercation led to a fatal shooting inside a home on the city's north side early Thursday.

Officers were dispatched to a home on the 2000 block of Hillside Ave. N around 2:30 a.m. on a call of shots fired. When they arrived they discovered a man inside that home dead of a gunshot wound.

Police spokesman John Elder says no suspects are currently in custody but homicide detectives are following up on leads. There were apparently witnesses inside the home when the shooting took place.

It was an emotional scene as family members arrived after hearing the news.
