RED LAKE, Minn. - A pit bull that was stabbed multiple times is "doing well" at the Red Lake Rosie's Rescue Shelter.
The dog had been cut four times with a knife, box cutter or razor on Feb. 16. He lost a lot of blood but survived.
The shelter's executive director, Karen Good, says "Jacob" was attacked on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. She said he is living in the cattery and had his wounds treated at the local vet. He is taking antibiotics, pain management medication along with special feeding for malnourishment.
"We want to thank the Humane Society of the United States and the Red Lake Police Department for their diligence in finding the person or persons who hurt Jacob," Good told KARE 11 in an email.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to whoever stabbed the male pit bull. The Humane Society of the United States announced the reward.
Anyone with information is asked to call Red Lake Police.
