ST. PAUL, Minn. - A man is in critical condition after being struck in a hit-and-run on Saturday night in St. Paul.

Police said that the man was struck by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old woman. The two had apparently gotten into a dispute, police said.

The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. at 7th and Mercer Streets.

"I wouldn't call it a domestic situation ... The two were known well to each other. Alcohol was a factor," said police spokesman Howie Padilla.

Police were able to track down the driver a short time later. She has been arrested on charges of criminal vehicular operation.

The victim was unconscious and taken to Regions Hospital with a head injury, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
