HUDSON, Wis. - Family members say they've been told the man accused of killing his wife and her sister near Madison, Wis. is due in court this week.
Dan DuPuis of Hudson, an uncle of the two sisters, says the Dane County district attorney authorized him to say that the suspect is out of the hospital and now in jail.
Police say he was treated at a hospital for injuries consistent with a suicide attempt.
DuPuis says he will make his first court appearance Friday via closed circuit TV. Steele hasn't been charged yet.
He was arrested after an attack at his Fitchburg, Wis. home Friday that left his wife, Ashlee Steele, and her sister, Kacee Tollefsbol, of Lake Elmo, dead.
DuPuis says Ashlee's husband was struggling with a recent ALS diagnosis.
