MINNEAPOLIS -- University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler is getting a raise after rave reviews of his job performance.

The Board of Regents approved a 2.5 percent increase Tuesday to Kaler's base salary, which will bring it to over $625,000 next year.

"President Kaler's first three years at the University have been outstanding and the Board believes in his vision to move this great institution and the state forward," said Board Chair Richard Beeson.

Regents also unanimously approved a five year contract extension, keeping at Kaler at the University of Minnesota until 2020.
