ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Authorities in St. Paul are investigating the city's 14th homicide of the year.
Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of shots fired in an alley behind Iglesia de Dios Rios de Aguain the 900 block of Reaney Avenue. When they arrived, they found a woman, reportedly 20-years-old, dead in acar in the alley.
Authorities have not officially released the victim's name, but the family is identifying her as Neressa Turner. They say she loved music and could light up a room.
So far, no arrests have been made but investigators say the shooting does not appear to be random. Turner's family says she received death threats via social media recently, but police are not confirming those reports.
Investigators are trying to figure out what took place in the moments leading up to the shooting, including who may have been inside the vehicle with the woman.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Saint Paul Police Department.
