EXCELSIOR, Minn. - THE ICA Food shelf in Excelsior turned into a Hollywood set featuring actresses Sally Kellerman of M.A.S.H. and Ellen Dolan of "As the World Turns." But the real star is the town of Excelsior.
Director and writer Scott Thompson asked a city to a step up and help with his production of "One Song" a story about a woman who rediscovers her love of singing.
The town would have to foot half of the $180,000 cost of the movie and Excelsior stepped up. But that's not all the city gave. The city also offered plenty of spaces to shoot, and resident like Bob Edmondson, who's also a member of the local chamber, brushed off their acting skills.
The movie will premiere in Excelsior in 2014.
