ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Paul man killed in a townhome fire on Sunday morning died from smoke inhalation, according to the St. Paul Fire Department.

Officials said that Chris Meusburger, 30, died in the fire at his townhome on the 700 block of Glendale Street early Sunday morning.

They said that Meusburger's blood alcohol level was 0.26, which may have caused impairment.

On Sunday, investigators also said that the lone smoke detector in the home had been disabled prior to the fire breaking out.

The fire has been deemed unintentional but undetermined because investigators said they cannot rule out careless smoking or an electrical cause.
