MINNEAPOLIS - Memorabilia diehards waited hours for a chance to drive on to the Metrodome turf and drive off with a plastic blue seat on Monday.
"We waited in our car for more than two hours," said Molly Hintz, who made the trek from the Rochester area. "It's worth it."
Albrecht Signs, the company in charge of selling off the seats, was overwhelmed for several hours by long lines and eager fans, but eventually they worked out a much smoother operation.
"We're encouraging folks to be patient," says general manager Tony Manning. "We had hoped to sell 5 to 7-thousand (seats), but we've sold more than 12,000 (seats)."
Manning tells fans to arrive during the time frame they've been given.
Wednesday is the final day for pick-up at the Metrodome, but pick-up will continue at a Fridley location.
