GENEVA, Minn. - A South Dakota man is dead following a freeway crash in southern Minnesota Tuesday.

The Minnesota State Patrol website says 20-year-old Steven Selvig of Platte, SD, was killed when the northbound vehicle he was riding in lost control, crossed the median on I-35 near Geneva in Freeborn County, and was struck head-on by a truck.

Troopers say the driver of the Ford truck, a 64-year-old man from Hollandale, Minnesota, was uninjured.

Road conditions at the time are described as icy.
