ST. PAUL, Minn. - President Barack Obama's visit to the Twin Cities will be a short one.

He arrives at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday. He will then go to Metro Transit in St. Paul to tour the light rail facility.

At 2 p.m., the President will stop at the Union Depot to announce a new competition meant to encourage job creation. The legislation is part of what's being dubbed the "President's Year of Action."

Due to the Presidential motorcade, there will be some detours near the Union Depot on East 4th Street.

St. Paul police say there won't be any detours in place until about noon on Wednesday.

Drivers should be patient with traffic downtown.

Metro transit says many bus routes in the area will be detoured after 11 a.m.

President Obama is expected to leave MSP at about 3 p.m.
