ROSEVILLE, Minn - With spring-like weather finally upon us, MnDOT is wasting no time getting to work on a plethora of projects that will unfold in the coming months across Minnesota.
One major project will take place this weekend as crews close both directions of Highway 62 in Edina to facilitate the demolition of the Xerxes Avenue Bridge.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Highway 62 will close between Highway 100 and Interstate 35W so crews can demolish the bridge deck. The roadway will re-open by 5 a.m., Monday, April 14.
Eastbound Highway 62 will remain open to France Avenue exclusively for hospital traffic.
During the weekend closure westbound Highway 62 traffic will be detoured to I- 494 and then to Highway 100. Eastbound Highway 62 traffic will be detoured to I-494 and to I-35W.
