The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Eagle cam is always popular, but recently it has gotten attention for a different reason.

One of the three eaglets appeared to be in distress after getting its wing stuck in the nest.

Viewers have been reaching out to the DNR asking them to intervene. The DNR originally said that it would not step in, noting that nature needs to take its course.

They also feared that if they tried to help the eaglet it could be dangerous for the other two birds that could get scared.

But on Friday evening the DNR changed its mind and decided to help the eaglet.

They were able to safely get to the eaglet, but his wing was damaged. The bird was taken to the University of Minnesota Raptor Center where it is being treated.
