LAKEVILLE, Minn. - Police officers were called to Lakeville around 2:00 p.m. Thursday after reports of a human bones being discovered in a park. Police believe the bones are human and have been in the Ritter Farm Park for some time.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Crime Scene Investigations Unit are helping Lakeville Police and the Hennepin County Medical Examiners Office with this investigation.

Police say there is no threat to park visitors or area residents. Authorities say no further updates are expected until Friday after 12:00 p.m.
