SHAKOPEE, Minn. - From a brand-new ride that sends guests soaring 42 feet up in the sky to a new food truck that serves gourmet hotdogs, Valleyfair Amusement Park in Shakopee is revealing new summer featu
Valleyfair opens Friday, May 16 at 10:00 am.
"We want to expand the options for guests and continue to make Valleyfair a fun destination for families in Minnesota this summer," said Todd Larkin, Promotions and Communications Manager for Valleyfair.
The 38-year old amusement park is opening a new family area called "Route 76," which features a new ride named Northern Lights, the return of the Antique Autos, and the newly themed Scrambler and Tilter ride.
For the guests who would rather chow down on summer treats, Valleyfair is unveiling a new food truck which will be parked in the Route 76 family area.
The food truck will be serving six varieties of gourmet hot dogs, including a Juicy Lucy hot dog, topped with caramelized onions.
Before you know it, it's going to be time to pull out those bathing suits from the closet!
Valleyfair's Soak City Waterpark added new features including sand volleyball courts and a large sandbox. The water park area opens May 24th.
Several new live shows will also debut this summer, including "Ignite the Night"at the Gazebo Stage, "Party with the Peanuts Gang"in Planet Snoopy and the "Acafellas" along the walkways.
