MINNEAPOLIS - This year's crop of wasps is coming later than usual, according to a Minneapolis-based pest control expert.
This is the time of year when wasps begin building their nests. Unlike other insects, wasps do not re-use the nest from last season.
Todd Leyse, of Adam's Pest Control said while the crop might be late, the insects could be coming on stronger.
"Some years are better or worse than others and even though this winter was really cold, it would appear that didn't kill off all the wasps," Leyse said. "Fortunately for us, they have survived and in this particular year could be a worse year for wasps"
Wasp nests that are near your home could be a problem.
The best case is to call a pest control agency and not try to get rid of the nest yourself.
