MINNETONKA BEACH, Minn. - Authorities have identified a woman who was struck by a car near Lake Minnetonka on Thursday night.

Diane Meder, 57, was struck Thursday night outside her home in Minnetonka Beach, a small town on a peninsula on the lake west of Minneapolis.

She died about 90 minutes later at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Orono Police Officer Jay Dembouski says a man was arrested shortly after the accident, which investigators believe was not intentional. The man was jailed on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation resulting in a death.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor.

The case remains under investigation.

KARE 11 is not identifying the man pending formal charges.
