ST. PAUL, Minn. - Target Field will host the fourth concert in Minnesota for former Beattle Paul McCartney on Saturday.
To mark the sold out concert, Gov. Mark Dayton has proclaimed Saturday, Aug. 2 as Sir Paul McCartney Day in Minnesota.
The Governor's proclamation recognizes McCartney for his contributions to music in a career spanning nearly six decades and celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the first Beatles concert in Minnesota.
McCartney's first performance in Minnesota was in 1965 with the Beatles at Met Stadium in Bloomington. He has since made several solo appearances in the state, and with this most recent concert at Target Field, will have performed in every Minnesota Twins baseball stadium.
