ST. PAUL, Minn. - For newlyweds Jack Corrigan and Annie Lewine, things have to get better... as the start of their life together could not have started much worse.
The trouble started on Friday night when Jack ended up in the Regions Hospital ER after his groom's dinner. He was diagnosed with a perforated appendix early Saturday after spending the night in the hospital, but with dozens of friends and family members traveling to the Twin Cities from out of town for the wedding, he and Annie convinced Jack's doctors to release him for the nuptials.
After gritting his teeth through the ceremony and spending a bit of time with their guests, Jack and Annie returned to the hospital where he was immediately admitted for treatment. They were surprised to find out that a crew of big-hearted nurses had decorated his room, naming it "The Honeymoon Suite." They also created an awesome swag bag as a wedding gift of sorts.
The photo album for this pair includes the normal wedding fare, plus a few pics of Annie sitting bedside in her wedding gown with her groom in hospital garb. They are home after being discharged Wednesday, starting their marriage a bit sore... but happy.
Jack is on a cycle of antibiotics, and will return to Regions in 3 or 4 weeks to have his appendix removed. Annie tells KARE 11 that they will reschedule their "real" honeymoon... a Colorado hiking and brewery tour... for this fall or next spring.
