EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- A groundbreaking took place Saturday for a special baseball field in Eden Prairie.
A Miracle League field is being built and will be a place children and adults, regardless of physical or mental challenges, can have the opportunity to play baseball and be part of a team.
The field has been the dream of Eden Prairie natives since 2011 after they attended a Miracle League game in a neighboring city when they were 12. The group, now in high school, has been the driving force behind bringing this field for players with special needs to their home town.
It took several years for the groundbreaking to become a reality, and it involved a lot of donations from individuals and corporations.
The project still needs additional support. Click here if you are interested in donating.
