Search for landslide victims
Search crews looked to resume their careful rescue efforts Tuesday morning in Oso, a tiny rural community nearly wiped away by a massive landslide on Saturday. As of Monday night, Snohomish County officials had collected 176 names of people who remain unaccounted for after the devastating landslide.
Powerful spring snowstorm to slam New England
A strong spring snowstorm is expected to deliver howling winds and heavy snow to eastern New England late tonight and early Wednesday. The projected path of the storm puts Cape Cod, Mass., and southeastern Maine at greatest risk for blizzard conditions. Some communities could get more than a foot. The storm could rapidly gain power through a process known as "bombogenesis" Tuesday night, the National Weather Service predicted.

Weather halts plane search
Attempts to locate the wreckage of the lost Malaysia Airlines plane have been put on hold for at least 24 hours due to unsafe weather conditions in the search area, Australian Defense Minister David Johnston said.
