New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits in the '80s and '90s. But if you think they're stuck forever in last generation's ephemera, you're sorely mistaken — they still have the right stuff.
After reuniting in 2008, the Kids toured, released two albums and even headlined a themed cruise. The guys will host four nights of shows at The Axis theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas from July 10-13, timed to their 30th anniversary.
Here are seven throwback lyrics to get you in the mood, because there's truly nothing more enjoyable than aging boy bands and the fans who love them. Feel free to hum and/or pelvic thrust along:
"With your flip flops, half shirt, short shorts, mini skirt, walkin' on the beach, so pretty. You wasn't lookin' for a man, when you saw me in the sand, but you fell for the boy from the city." (Summertime)
"Get loose everybody 'cause we're gonna do our thing. 'Cause you know it ain't over 'till the fat lady sings. Hangin' tough, hangin' tough, hangin' tough." (Hanging' Tough)
"Step 1: We can have lots of fun. Step 2: There's so much we can do. Step 3: It's just you and me. Step 4: I can give you more. Step 5: Don't you know that the time has arrived." (Step by Step)
"Don't you know I could never leave your side girl. Won't you stay here with me and be my bride?" (Cover Girl)
"Every time we hear the curtain call, see the girls with the curls in the hair, the buttons and the pins and the loud fanfares. Tonight, tonight." (Tonight)
"There's not a star in the sky that could equal to the sparkle in your eyes. This card is only one way to let you know just how I feel." (Valentine Girl)
"Never, ever leave me girl. You promised your love to me forever. Say you'll never leave me girl." (If You Go Away)
