MINNEAPOLIS - Former Minneapolis mayor R.T. Rybak has launched a new chapter in his professional life.
Monday night was the first session of his Mayor 101 course at the Humphrey School at the University of Minnesota.
Students will learn four themes including creating safe places to call home, investing in people, investing in the common good and growing the city.
"I'm going to spend some time over this class trying to give these students hopefully the kind of class that I wish I would have taken before I had 12 years of mayor," Rybak said.
Rybak is also leading an organization called Generation Next, which is working to close the achievement gap between students in the Twin Cities.
