ST. PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota's Revenue Commissioner Myron Frans will hold a news conference on Monday to discuss a series of tax breaks approved by lawmakers on Friday .

Gov. Mark Dayton signed a $508 million bill on Friday, which returns some of the state's tax surplus.

Frans is expected to offer some clarity and guidance on Monday for those who are wondering if they will qualify for any of the credits.

The state has already said that Minnesotans who qualify for a tax credit will get notice from the state to file an amendment to their return.

The bill passed both the House and Senate by lopsided margins.

In a statement, Dayton says the tax cuts will put "more money in the pockets of Minnesota families and businesses" and "make taxes simpler for Minnesotans."
