MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team is need of a win.
The team has struggled so far in the month of February with a 2-5 record.
The latest loss was against a quality Big Ten opponent in Ohio State on the road, but the Gophers had a double-digit lead at one point in the first half.
"It was just one we let slip away," said Gophers guard Daquein McNeil. "We should have had that one. We kind of let our foot off the gas a little and they took advantage."
The Gophers will need to show that they are looking forward and not back when they host Iowa on Tuesday.
"I think they are eager to get back on the court," said coach Richard Pitino. "I think they are excited about it. I think that we did a lot of good things against Ohio State and we did a lot of bad things. I think they are eager to get back to work."
The Gophers, who are currently on the outside looking into the NCAA Tournament, according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi, wrap up the regular season with games at Michigan and at home against Penn State.
