MINNEAPOLIS - It was a busy day of tennis for Mounds View junior Summer Brills. She won two hard fought matches to claim her first 2A state championship in girls singles.

For Brills, a powerful groundstroker, the matches were anything but easy. She won her semifinal match in three hard fought sets, had a two hour break, and then came back to win another challenging three setter.

A grueling day no doubt, but completely rewarding achieving the goal she set at the start of the season, to be a state champion.
