MINNEAPOLIS - Nicollet Mall was draped in red on Tuesday morning, in preparation for the 10th annual MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show.
All-Stars from the Twins and every other Major League Baseball team will travel down Nicollet Mall and eventually arrive at Target Field.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. The route starts at the corner of Nicollet Mall and 13th street, turns down 7th street, and then continues toward Target Field.
The red carpet is about 5,700-linear feet long.
"Downtown Minneapolis is really the place to be this afternoon. It's free and it's a chance for fans to see their favorite baseball players up close," said Marla Miller, Senior Vice President of Special Events for MLB.
Twins legend and Hall of Famer Rod Carew will serve as the parade's grand marshal.
In honor of Little League Baseball's 75th anniversary the Golden Valley Little League will march in the parade.
"I am so excited!" said Zach Zeman.
Twins legends, including Bert Blyleven, Paul Molitor and Tony Oliva, are also scheduled to take part in the parade.
From legends on the baseball field to legends in the classroom, the 30 winners of the Target presents People Magazine "All-Star Teachers" campaign, which celebrates current and retired teachers, will take part in the parade.
