CLEVELAND - A trade that has been talked about for more than a month is now a reality. Kevin Love is finally teaming up with LeBron James.
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Saturday that they will acquire Andrew Wiggens, Anthony Bennett, Thaddeus Young and a trade exception in a three-team trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers.
In exchange, the Timberwolves traded Kevin Love to Cleveland, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Alexey Shved to Philadelphia. The 76ers will also get a 2015 first-round draft choice from Cleveland via Miami.
"With the additions of Wiggins, Bennett and Zach LaVine this summer, we have brought in three exciting young athletes who all have the potential to have an impact in this league. All three of them complement each other very well and we believe they will be foundations of our team for years to come," said Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders in a statement released Saturday.
The Timberwolves say they will introduce their new acquisitions at the Minnesota State Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
