MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith could make his return to the field as early as this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Vikings activated Smith off the injured reserve-designated to return list on Saturday.
The second-year safety suffered a turf toe injury in Week 6.
Smith is expected to suit up for the Vikings on Sunday according to an NFL.com report.
The Vikings secondary has allowed a league-high 29 passing touchdowns this season.
In five games this season, Smith has two interceptions.
The Vikings also announced that cornerback Josh Robinson was placed on injured reserve. They also signed running back Joe Banyard off the practice squad.
