MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Wild are back in action on Thursday against the Edmonton Oilers, but when they hit the ice, they still might be without one of their stars.
Captain Mikko Koivu is practicing with the team, but he is not 100 percent after suffering a broken bone in his ankle.
The Wild are currently in hold of the No. 7 seed in the playoff race and coaches know that it would benefit the team to have everyone ready for action.
"There's no question we want to get him back. Let's be honest, he's a huge part our team," said coach Mike Yeo. "At the same time, when we get him back, we want to make sure he is in the lineup. We want him to be 100 percent or very close to that and at the very least be in there for the rest of the season."
In addition to Koivu, the Wild will likely be without goalies Josh Harding and Niklas Backstrom on Thursday.
