Prior to our arrival here in Sochi, we were told that it rained here continuously for days on end. We were even told to bring rain boots because the ground was very muddy with all the rain. But from the moment we arrived here, there has been no sign of rain. And for whatever reason, I've seen some of the most amazing sunrises and sunsets in my life!

Keep in mind that I go to bed when it's dark outside and I wake up the next day when it's dark outside so maybe that's why I'm noticing it more than ever, but I have enjoyed every single sunrise and sunset since arriving here. For those of you that follow me on social media, I actually might even be posting too many pictures of it.

Last night, though topped them all. As my previous blog noted, I was in the Olympic Park area after my Olympic Super Store fiasco. On my walk back to the International Broadcast Center, I came across one of the most amazing skies I've ever seen in my life.

The skies were blue, yellow, and orange but it was the setting that made this sunset so spectacular and also made me realize what an amazing assignment I am on. The cauldron was burning and the flags of all the countries participating in the games were looming above me. I couldn't resist taking this photo from my smart phone and was completely blown away by how great it turned out.

So while I really do miss Minnesota a ton, especially my family, having the warmer weather and the incredible skies to look at every day and night is helping me get through the long work days.
