Winning gold in the doubles luge event, Germans Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt helped Germany continue its luge dominance at the Sochi Games.

Wendl and Arlt dethroned Austrian brothers Wolfgang and Andreas Linger, who had won gold at both the 2006 and 2010 Olympics. The Linger brothers settled for the silver medal, while Latvian brothers Juris and Andris Sics won bronze.

Americans Christian Niccum and Jayson Terdiman finished in 11th place, while the U.S. sled of Matthew Mortensen and Preston Griffall were 14th out of 19 sleds.
