GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.--  Amanda Guralski from BizMe.biz shared some great advice for parents on how to help their soon-to-be
graduate find a job.

Here are her tips:

1. Talk with your friends-a chance to shadow and introduce your son or daughter to career and family friends-set up informational interviews.

2. Attend community social events with your son or daughter-
practice social skills beforehand; great tool for introductions.

3. Encourage internship, even if unpaid.

4. Visit their facebook page-if you're appalled, potential employers will be too.

5. Conduct practice interviews-listen for "um's" "you know" "like" and repeating the question before answering-watch for eye contact and posture.

6. Help them with corporate research-use relocation sites.

7. Listen to your graduate-what is it that he/she really wants to do- keep your own projections and goals for your son or daughter tucked away in your heart-help them to verbalize strengths and contributions and how to emphasize through specific examples.

8. Advance or gift your son or daughter the money to purchase two interview outfits (in case of a callback 2nd interview) along with a salon visit for a fresh and stylish haircut.
