MINNEAPOLIS - The good news first: Friday will be our nicest day of the weekend if you actually include it in the long weekend.
Now, the not-so-good. Friday's sunshine will be replaced by clouds late in the day, and showers & thunderstorms will roll across Minnesota during the nighttime hours.
Expect lingering, scattered showers into the morning Saturday and clouds will hang on most of the day. That will keep temps down in the low 60s for highs, just 50s in central/northern Minnesota.
Far northeast Minnesota will fare a bit better (at least drier) with some sunshine, but temps will remain cool. The afternoon should be mainly dry.
Sunday will feature a lot of cloud cover with showers and thunder that will mostly be hit-and-miss. It will not be a complete wash-out.
Memorial Day (Monday) looks to bring some more peeks of sunshine, and that should push temperatures up toward 70. There will, however, still be the chance of a shower or thunderstorm.
Have a great holiday, everyone!
