MINNEAPOLIS -- After a warmer day on Monday, we will have a couple of days with the threat for showers and thunderstorms in the Twin Cities.

Thanks to early morning clouds on Sunday, 68 was all we could muster on the thermometer. That's only 10 degrees off the normal high for June 12th. But after the winter we shoveled through, it felt like a bigger gap. Good news is we'll close it today and get up to normal temperatures by week's end.

West central Minnesota woke up to wet weather Monday. As early morning showers and thunderstorms started to collapse, a brief period of high winds prompted a warning from the National Weather Service. Gusts up to 60 miles per hour were reported in some locations in western Minnesota.

In the Twin Cities today expect it to breezy and warmer. Southeast winds will increase to between 12 and 18 mph as temps climb to around 75.

Unsettled weather off to the west will track toward us Tuesday and Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible.

Thursday looks nice. Friday will bring a warm up that will continue into the weekend. At this early stage it looks like a slight chance for showers on Saturday and Sunday.
