MINNEAPOLIS - It took awhile but here it is...it will feel and look like winter throughout the week. Arctic air that has been bottled up to our north most of the winter will push south later on Wednesday. A cold front will sweep through bringing snow showers to northern Minnesota and flurries elsewhere Wednesday evening.
Temperatures will plummet and winds will pick up behind the front later during the day. Prior to that we will have a quick surge of temperatures into the low 20s on Wednesday. The winds will make it feel much cooler all day and downright arctic overnight Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
Winter doesn't end right then, snow showers will also push in late Thursday night into Friday. Some accumulations are possible, stay tuned for details, right now it looks like southern and central Minnesota are the more probable areas.
A warming trend for the weekend with temperatures hitting 30 again by Sunday.
And yes I know penguins live in Antarctica but didn't have a lot of pictures to pick from and I like penguins!
