MINNEAPOLIS - Another quiet, mild week.....amazing!  The storm pattern continues to be split across the country with the polar air capped to our north and the southerly jet carrying storms across the central U.S.  Temperatures Tuesday will be near record high in the metro to cap off January.

January is our fourth month in a row in the top ten warmest for the metro, coming in at 8th with an average temperature near 23 1/2 degrees.

Temperatures will drop a bit for the beginning of February but still we will stay around 10 or more degrees above normal.  The lack of snowpack really is a huge factor with our temperatures both day and night.  The fact that there is a lack of snow all across the areas to our west and southwest really play a factor as well.

The storms generally push across these miles of brown ground before reaching Minnesota and remain warmer, or warm up because of it.

The record for today is 46 set back in 1995....so stay tuned to see if we can get there today.  It will be close.
