MINNEAPOLIS - Another very mild day is on the way Tuesday for the last day of January. Highs will once again soar into the 40s, with an outside shot at 50 for a few places. The record high for the Twin Cities today is 46 set back in 1995. We will be close!

January is ending up the 7th warmest on record beating out January of 1933. This marks the fourth consecutive month that has been in the top 10 warmest!

October, November, December were each also very warm.

January also marks our 8th consecutive month of warmer than normal temperatures since and including June 2011.

We will see cooler air move in later Tuesday, but by cooler, we're talking highs still well into the 30s the next several days yet.

No arctic outbreaks are in sight within the next week at least.

We are watching a storm system for Friday into Saturday however that is tracking closer to Minnesota on the computer models than previously. It's still way too early to tell what will happen with that one, especially given all the warm air around. Somewhere in the region will get rain and or snow- potentially heavy.

Stay tuned.
