Bea Chang began her career as a news photojournalist in Green Bay, Wis. in 1991. From 1994-1995 she worked in Milwaukee, Wis. and Tampa, Fla. before joining the team at KARE 11 in Minneapolis-St. Paul as a general assignment photojournalist in September of 1995.
Bea quickly found her niche in the sports department and became one of the best NFL photographers in the nation. In 2000, Bea was a part of the National Press Photographers Association "Large Market Station of the Year" winning entry.
Also a talented field and executive producer, Bea moved into the digital platform in 2008 as the senior online producer and in 2011 was named KARE 11’s first full-time Social Media Manager in the news department.
During Bea’s time online, KARE was awarded three Edward R. Murrow awards for best broadcast affiliated website.
Bea also created all social media pages for KARE 11 and quickly made them number one among all the TV stations and newspapers in the Twin Cities.
