Dana Thiede is a Web Content Creator and Coordinator at KARE-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Dana is a Twin Cities native, having grown up in New Hope and graduated from Armstrong High School, and then St. Cloud State University with a double major in Mass Communications/Journalism and Speech Communications. He started his career in video production making commercials and long form productions until an open position in northwestern Minnesota's lake country called him back to the news business.

KCMT TV in Alexandria was Thiede's first stop as a photographer, reporter and producer, followed by stints as a photographer/live truck operator at WFRV in Green Bay, and as executive producer/special projects producer in Milwaukee at WVTV. Dana moved back to the Twin Cities for his dream job at KARE 11 in 1992, starting as producer of the 10 p.m. newscast. In the years since he has served as a field producer and writer (described by Dana as a reporter you don't see on TV) of daily stories, extras and documentaries. Thiede made the move to the digital content team in 2008.

Dana has been recognized with numerous local and regional Emmys and Edward R. Murrow awards, and was honored with a national Murrow as the best large market television writer in America in 2005.

He lives in New Hope in the house he grew up in with wife Karen, daughters Delaney and Kendall, and Tobee the wonder dog.
