Ways to save at the Minnesota State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair starts next week. You’ll have to do a little pre-planning to save some money before you get inside the gates.

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – The Minnesota State Fair starts next week. You’ll have to do a little pre-planning to save some money before you get inside the gates.

Here are some money-saving tips.

1. Buy your admission tickets ahead of time. You’ll save $3 off the regular adult admission price. The tickets are available through August 24th at the State Fair Ticket Office and participating Cub Foods stores.

2. Purchase a Blue Ribbon Bargain Book. The book is just $5 and offers coupons with big savings on food, merchandise and attractions. The books are available wherever pre-fair admission tickets are sold.

3. Parking in state fairgrounds lots will cost you $13. It’s cash-only. You can park for free at any of the state fair park and ride lots. 4. The fair also offers discounts on certain days at the fairgrounds. The first day of the fair, Thursday, August 25 is Thrifty Thursday.
